Reliable food logistics in a quality-driven care environment
At the Federsee Health Center in Bad Buchau, Germany, food is more than just nourishment – it is an essential part of care and recovery. Every day, around 3 000 meals are prepared and distributed from the central kitchen to multiple service points across the health center.
Ensuring that every meal arrives on time, at the right place and at the right temperature is no small task. With deliveries spanning dining areas, wards, external buildings, and care facilities, even minor delays can disrupt the entire workflow. To meet these challenges, the kitchen team relies on ScanBox.
At the heart of this operation is Catering Manager Darius Jastrzembski, who leads the kitchen team and oversees the daily logistics. Meals are prepared in GN 1/1 gastronorm pans and loaded directly into ScanBox units in the kitchen. From there, they travel through an underground network of corridors and elevators, reaching clinical wards, nursing homes, the restaurant, and the café. Even when fully loaded, the trolleys move smoothly and are easy to handle, helping staff keep a steady pace throughout the day.
